Showcased are historic recordings of works by Richard Wagner (1813-1883), dating from the late 1940s/early 1950s and recorded in the main in Carnegie Hall, New York.
Featured soloists are American soprano Helen Traubel and leading Wagner tenor of the time, Danish/American singer, Lauritz Melchior.
