Luca Guglielmi (piano)About
A fascinating programme around Bach and the Birth of the Piano. Much has been said about the 'right' choice of instrument performing Bach’s keyboard works. Luca Guglielmi demonstrates in a delectable programme the various instruments Bach knew and played on (and composed for): the Silbermann piano, the Cristofori piano and the 'old fashioned' clavichord, each with their own specific sound and instrumental possibilities.
Luca Guglielmi is one of Italy’s foremost keyboard players. His recent recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations received a Diapason d’Or in France.
