This 4 CD set brings together all of Mendelssohn’s music for piano and orchestra, including the Concerto for Two Pianos and the Concerto for Piano and Violin as well as the unfinished Piano Concerto No.3 (completed recently by Marcello Bufalini).
Joined as appropriate, by soloist colleagues, Oleg Marshev is the pianist throughout, in music that he describes as being “full of charm, brightness, elegance, fun and melodic beauty”.
Oleg Marshev's extension discography includes the Complete Works for Piano and Orchestra by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Pabst, Ravel, Schumann, Debussy, Winding, Langgaard, Hartmann, Rachmaninov and Chopin.
