Martín García García is the latest addition to the label's Blue Series, representing unique music portraits of the most interesting personalities of the International Chopin Piano Competition.
Until Martín García García took third prize at the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, Spain had never featured in the high rankings of the Warsaw contest.
Focusing here purely on Chopin, he made a consistently good impression, going on in addition to his main prize to win the Warsaw Philharmonic's special Prize for the Best Performance of a Concerto – despite, or perhaps because, of playing the less 'favoured' work in the final, the Concerto in F minor.
