About

The Bavarian State Library was the sponsor of an event in May 2006 during which this Handel premiere took place. Sylvia Greenberg, Edgar Krapp and Wenn-Sinn Yang interpreted the cantata “Crudel Tiranno Amor” in the previously unknown arrangement for soprano, harpsichord and violoncello.

The manuscript for this was found in the library in a remarkably good condition, with the rare benefit of having Handel’s own written parts for the continuo part in his recitatives.

World premiere recording.
