ArtistsLoredana Brigandě (piano)
This is the debut disc by pianist Loredana Brigandě on Dynamic, an expert performer of the music if the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In 1996 her name became known internationally with the issue of the complete edition of Ignaz Moscheles' Studies, op.70, in a world premičre recording, which won outstanding praise from international critics. “This recording of Moscheles’ 24 Studies is characterised by brilliant and elegantly expressive pianism. Brigandi….plays this innumerable series with great bravura and a solid technique.” - Piano Time
Moscheles worked in London in the nineteenth century, where he occupied the post of Director of the Royal Philharmonic Society. Retiring from concert activity, he devoted himself to teaching in Leipzig (having been invited by Mendelssohn to take up the position of piano teacher in the conservatory which himself directed.)
His oeuvre of some 135 pieces is made up almost entirely of piano works.
