'Patterns in a Chromatic Field' allows us to discover one of the most original and enigmatic musics of the repertoire. Composed the same year as the well-known Triadic Memories (1981) and 10 years after the famous Rothko Chapel (1971), Patterns in a Chromatic Field is one of the masterpieces of the cello and piano repertoire from the second half of the 20th century.

The Flemish violoncellist Arne Deforce is known for the interiority and the exceptional emotional quality of his interpretations. Since studying at the Conservatorium of Ghent and Brussels, Arne Deforce has specialised in the historic avant-garde of the 20th century, making a name for himself as an active ambassador of contemporary repertoire for cello.
