This CD of extracts from Kipling’s writing is read by the British-born Hollywood actor Ralph Fiennes. It was recorded in the study at Bateman’s, Kipling’s Jacobean house in East Sussex where he wrote many of his books. Bateman’s is now owned by the National Trust

Readings are interspersed with early recordings of Elgar, and some traditional Indian music which reflects Kipling’s deep association with the country of his birth.
