Juan Carlos Fernandez-Nieto (piano)About
The piano pieces, all of them, show the lushness of aromas, colours, and reflections of prodigal lands in the production of artistic sensations. One could speak of landscapes in which the human element is present; the voice of a folk tradition which longs to express its most intimate essence, not in an illustrative but in an evocative sense. They embody a perfect communion between the performer, the music, and the context, governed by its aesthetic values that connect with the principles of reason, logos, and intelligence. The first cultural theme of nationhood is the idea of community reflected through shared memory and values, and, in this project by pianist Juan Carlos Fernández-Nieto they find their musical testimony.
Spanish-American pianist Juan Carlos Fernández-Nieto’s international career is rapidly flourishing after he stepped in last minute performing Mozart Piano Concerto ‘Jeunehomme’ at Carnegie Hall with The Chamber Orchestra of New York, which resulted in a standing ovation and immediate reengagements. Fernández-Nieto is a prize winner of many prestigious competitions internationally, such as XIX Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, Iturbi International Piano Competition, 56 Jaen International Piano Competition, CSMTA Young Artists Competition, Chamber Music Society at Yale, Ciudad de Linares, National Piano Competition in Leon. He has also been the recipient of prizes and awards as the George Miles Fellowship, Linda & Alan Englander Fellowship, and the Yale Alumni Prize.
