An excellent German company, Orfeo have been in existence since 1979 and issue a mixture of new recordings alongside some very well produced archive discs in their Orfeo d’Or series. Many live performances from great artists at the Salzburg Festival are featured, including names such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Irmgard Seefried, Nathan Milstein, Sviatoslav Richter, Carlos Kleiber, Herbert von Karajan, Dmitri Mitropoulos and more. More recent recordings feature artists such as Andris Nelsons, Daniel Muller-Schott, Baiba Skride and Piotr Beczala.
