About
Born in Tokyo of Polish and Japanese parents, Stefan Warzycki is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In the past few years he has made a number of concert tours in the United States, South America, Switzerland and Japan. He currently lives in London, where his most recent appearances include concerto performances and solo recitals at St John's Smith Square, the Wigmore Hall and the South Bank. In February 1990 he performed with Wissam Boustany in a highly acclaimed recital at the Purcell Room which included much of the music on this record.
"...very nicely delivered with a wry touch of humour where required by Boustany and Warzycki... ...delivered with delightful insouciance by Boustany with perfect syncopated rhythmic touches from Warzycki.... ...The slow movement is one of Martinu’s mysterious nocturnes, a beautiful meditative piece which Boustany delivers with ideal poise..." - Paul Corfield Godfrey, musicweb-international.com
This is a première recording of Simon Holt's Maiastra for solo flute.
