Here is a unique Retrospective tribute to mark the centenary of one of the 20th century’s best loved – and funniest – entertainers: Danny Kaye.

13th January 2013 marks the Centenary of David Daniel Kaminsky (1913-1987), the comic genius who, as “Danny Kaye”, forced his way into our hearts and memories through a remarkable career in films, radio, television and recording.

This Retrospective survey presents his 26 finest recordings, from his war-time rise to fame with Minnie the Moocher and a series of extraordinary rapid patter songs, through to the iconic Five Pennies Saints duet with Louis Armstrong from the late 50s.

Along the way, balancing brilliance, exuberance and pathos, are such immortal classics as the musical fable Tubby the Tuba, three duets with The Andrews Sisters, and all eight of the charming Frank Loesser songs he sang in the film Hans Christian Andersen.
