About
Beat Furrer's new opera Wüstenbuch is based on texts several texts from ancient Egyptian writings to contemporary authors. The desert (german: Wüste) is for Furrer a base where he can place his drama without a plot. The music and texts create an rich and complex atmosphere full of history and poetry.
In addition to the opera, there are 3 pieces by the composer on the second disc - giving a more detailed insight into his music.
