About
Christopher Wright celebrates his 60th birthday with several major concerts and three recordings, including this new album of chamber works for varied instruments, in his lyrically tonal and strongly rhythmic style - modern but firmly in the English tradition of pastoral and characteristic influences.
The musicians have been drawn from orchestral and chamber players from Manchester, including prominent conductor (and here violinist) Richard Howarth, soprano Lesley-Jane Rogers, top cellist Tim Smedley (Gabrieli Consort, etc) and two hand-picked woodwind/string ensembles.
