About
As a celebrated pianist, Alain Lefèvre has been contributing to breaking down barriers between musical genres for many years. An active figure on the international scene, Alain Lefèvre has performed some of the greatest masterpieces in music literature, much to his loyal audience's delight. As a composer, he has penned some exquisite pieces with unique sensitivity on three of his albums. Here is his fourth album as composer: 'Rive Gauche'.
These are 9 stories that, just like 'digitally illuminated networks', illustrate some memorable chapters in the book of life of the artist. They are also musical thoughts on universal themes. The composer's intention here is to tell a story that will help listeners find their own. “You need a large dose of humility and innocence in order to give music lovers these special moments of life, as everything I compose starts with a smile, a phone call, an emotion", says the composer.
The album features some outstanding collaborations with Angèle Dubeau, Léanne Labrèche d'Or, Paul Brochu and Michel Donato.
Each composition is fed by human encounters. Either it is the emptiness we feel when faced with unpredictable tragedy (Le Chemin), the loss of a loved one (Parsifal le chat) or even the unusual lightness that sometimes inhabits us (Rive Gauche), Alain Lefèvre establishes bonds between seemingly incoherent events of life.
