About
Following two albums devoted to the chamber music of Alfred Schnittke, the Molinari Quartet plunges into the fascinating world of Sofia Gubaidulina, a Russian-Tatar composer and a remarkable figure in contemporary music.
The program features Gubaidulina’s 1957 Quintet for piano, her complete string quartets composed between 1970 and 1993, the 1988 string trio, Reflections on the theme B-A-C-H, and Freue Dich!, a sonata for violin and cello.
The Molinari Quartet is joined by pianist Louise Bessette for this recording.
