About
The composer Karsten Fundal (b.1966) has a strong philosophical and systematic side to his mind, in parallel with a sensuous and intuitive musicality that investigates acoustic space, pulse and motion. In this recording the ensemble Ekkozone explores Fundal’s tonal and rhythmic universe in new compositions for saxophone, percussion and piano.
Ekkozone stands for classical avant-garde, minimalism and cross-over. The ensemble is led by percussionist Mathias Reumert and consists of Scandinavian and British musicians in various formations. Over 4000 audiences witnessed Ekkozone perform Steve Reich’s masterpiece 'Music for 18 Musicians' in one of the best reviewed concerts at the Roskilde Festival 2013.
Ekkozone:
- Mathias Reumert, percussion
- Mathias Seibæk, percussion
- Rolf Hind, piano
- Peter Navarro-Alonso, saxophone
