Lukáš Hurník belongs to the middle generation of Czech artists. His work synthesizes the ideas of rock music and classical music. This is reflected in the composition Variations on a Theme of Frank Zappa.

The compact disc captures a few of his larger orchestral pieces, played by outstanding orchestras and performers, including conductor Jiri Belohlavek, Vladimir Valek and Tomas Netopil.

An interesting look at contemporary Czech music.
