Andri Joël Harison performs as an arranger, conductor, composer, pianist, improvisator and singer. At the age of six, he went to basic music classes for children at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Between 2007 and 2014 he has won several prizes in the young musician competition “prima la musica” as a soloist as well as with chamber ensembles. In 2012 his arrangement (for two clarinets and piano) of Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for two clarinets (1918) was awarded first place in the same competition, as he was performing with the Trio Traumhaft.
On 16 June 2011 the Austrian television ORF broadcasted a special documentary about the highly talented young musician. Andri Joël Harison is currently studying orchestral conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and additionally intends to focus on his own compositions as well as on his own arrangements. His perfomances include guest appearances in numerous renowned theatres and concert halls.
