About

While once visiting Mannheim, W.A. Mozart wished aloud: “Oh, if only we even had but clarinets in Salzburg...”, so as to be able to employ this instrument in an orchestra. Rare are the instruments in the 18th century and even more so the players who master them. In the 19th century however, a proper clarinet boom could be witnessed; no orchestra could longer play without it and solo literature became sought after. Pierre-André Taillard and his piano accompanist Edoardo Torbianelli present works for clarinet and piano by German composers of the early 19th century and perform them on instruments of the time.
