Evgeny Moguilevsky (piano)About
Evgeny Moguilevsky is a brilliant pianist who studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Heinrich Neuhaus. In 1964, he won the first Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition where the jury and the public were charmed, as much by the artistic qualities as by his admirable technique. This triumph was followed by many invitations, but he was restrained by the Soviet regime and not authorised to play in the West until 1974.
Finally, in 1987, he was permitted to serve as a member of the jury of the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium Competition. Since 1992, he has been living in Belgium where he has been nominated as Professor at the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
