Leonard BernsteinAbout
Leonard Bernstein firmly believed that artistic endeavours would make the world a better place. He was one of the first American conductors to gain international stature. His musical genius, spectacular conducting style and contagious enthusiasm for communicating his art has influenced generations of young musicians. Bernstein was also a gifted pianist (Mozart Concertos in this compilation).
This set includes the first of Bernstein's two recordings of Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony, vastly superior to his remake on DG.
