Jean-Philippe Collard (piano)About
The 71-year-old artist shares here an interpretation including emotional expressivity of intimate lifetime experiences, beautiful sound, virtuoso technique - almost improvised, as if sung by the voices of an imaginary opera - and his vision of the composer’s musical writing and fascination for Goya.
The pianist delivers his version of Granados’s Goyescas, which raises two existential questions - love and death. The pianist says “to interpret such a piece leads one to approach a little bit more the mystery of life.”
The beauty of his pianism conjures up a sensual, fragrant and delicate Spain. Into this atmosphere come the popular Goyescas, almost improvised and as if sung by the voices of an imaginary opera.
