Konstantin Semilakovs, born 1984 in Riga, Latvia, won First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Porto. In 2018 he was appointed professor of piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He is particularly interested in studying the phenomenon of colour perception in the classical piano repertoire as well as in synaesthetic performances of the music of Olivier Messiaen and Alexander Scriabin.
