The composer Johannes Brahms is very close to the pianist's heart and it is no coincidence that his Piano Concerto no.1 was at the heart of Kim's Asia tour with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and its first guest conductor in the autumn of 2019.
The recording of the Piano Concerto is complemented by the Six Piano Pieces, op.118.
The Piano Concerto was recorded live at the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea in September 2019 and the Six Piano Pieces in June 2020 in the Mendelssohn Hall of the Leipzig Gewandhaus.
