About

Brahms’s repertoire is huge and varied – however, due to the large number of recordings it is almost impossible to interpret anything new from his repertoire. The Piano Duo Silver-Garburg has therefore asked the arranger and long-time friend Richard Dünser to write a concerto arrangement of the Piano Quartet, op.25. The result is an overwhelming work which supports the rousing effect of the original and captivates the listener.

Brahms already was a great enthusiast of four-hands writing and has left us a wide array of works for this genre. Some, such as the Haydn Variations or his early two-piano Sonata (which led to his First Piano Concerto), were first created as works for two pianos, while many others are a later version, which he wrote for the majority of his chamber, symphonic and even choral oeuvre.
