About

During a few warm weeks of the summer of 2003 Trio X recorded their Christmas record In dulci jubilo. It became their trademark and resulted in innumerable Christmas concerts for their enthusiastic audiences. Now, 17 years later, they have produced a sequel called Veni veni Emmanuel. This is instrumental Christmas music at its best with one of Sweden’s most renowned piano trios, Trio X of Sweden. Trio X of Sweden are one of three groups from the regional Music Institution - Musik i Uppland.

They are trio of inquisitive and boundary-crossing musicians inspired by many diverse genres and they have worked with many well-known artists, toured in Sweden and even internationally. On stage they are just as much at home in a large concert hall as in a small classroom. With over 408,000 listeners a month on Spotify, they reach out to the world with their creative music.

Since the Anglo-Saxon Christmas music tradition is well-represented, we have deliberately limited ourselves to Sweden and the European continent in our choice of repertoire. We have included some music from the Middle-Ages, some more modern music and even a few relatively newly composed songs. Veni veni Emmanuel, the title number, can be seen as an expression of a search after some kind of primal source. At the same time, it is the most experimental track so can also represent a mirroring of life itself. Chaotic and unpredictable.
