Ewa Mrowca (harpsichord)About
The artist devoted the present album to harpsichord music by Louis Marchand (1669-1732), who enjoyed the reputation of an outstanding organist and harpsichordist, and in 1708 he became one of the four royal organists at La Chapelle Royale in Versailles.
The solo album of the Polish artist includes both suites from two books of harpsichord works, arranged in the order of the editions of 1702 and 1703 released by the publishing house of the royal printer Christophe Ballard, kept at the Bibliotheque nationale in Paris. The album is completed by the miniature La Venitienne.
The Cracow-born harpsichordist is highly appreciated for her concert activity in the field of early music, which comprises solo recitals and performances with Baroque ensembles in Poland, France, Germany, Spain, China, Japan, and the USA. Her first solo album with works by Jean Nicolas Geoffroy (1633-1694) received a nomination for the International Classical Music Awards 2013 as well as the 5 du Diapason award.
