Albert Hamann, Máximo Diego Pujol, Richard Galliano are the names of composers for whom the fascination with Astor Piazzolla's music played an important role in their output. Although the album does not include any piece by the tango master, his spirit patronises each of the recorded compositions: the 'Azanca' Suite, which evokes Piazzolla's double concerto Hommage à Liège with its cast, the 'Buenos Aires' Suite, which is a musical portrait of the Argentine capital's districts, so deeply rooted in the tango tradition and the birthplace of the Argentinian bandoneonist, as well as in the lively third movement of the 'Opale' Concerto.
