Berit Johansen Tange (piano)About
Berit Johansen Tange is a true Langgaard expert, having recorded several world premieres of his solo piano works and three albums with his works for violin and piano.
The piano works capture the mysterious forces forces, poetic gracefulness and absurd hysteria that are all part of Langgaard’s both dark and wondrous expression.
These piano works are aberrations from a sensitive soul who restored the nineteenth century’s Romanticism on the twentieth century’s ground.
Langgaard’s two sets of Flower Vignettes are respectively the first and last great work he composed for the piano. The early set were composed shortly after he had his Symphony no.1 performed by the Berlin Philharmonic with great success.
The first three volumes in this series received great praise in the Danish and international press, including top reviews in BBC Music Magazine and Piano News.
