About
Over time he has built up a collection of original instruments, that are - whenever in a suitable condition - played in jazz and classical settings. For his regular label, Pavlik Records, Ladislav Fanzowitz has researched a selection (or connection) that features the alto saxophone in combinations with violin, cello, trumpet and bassoon. Even though there are jazz elements, listeners will note the absence of percussion!
These explored saxophone connections open a virtually forgotten musical world inhabited by Ernst-Lothar von Knoor (1896-1973), Adolf Busch (1891-1952), Paul Hindemith (1895-1963), Nicolas Bacri (b. 1961), Pierre Max Dubois (1930-1995), Ernst Roters (1892-1961) and Nikolai Kapustin (1937-2020).
