About

On the album Years of Ambiguity, experienced composer and jazz artist Kjetil Husebø has created music at the crossroads between ambient, drone and jazz. The grand piano has been replaced with synthesisers, samplers, electronics and programming. Internationally renowned musicians Arve Henriksen (trumpet) and Eivind Aarset (guitar) collaborate with him on several of the tracks. The moods on the album are cinematic and full of contrasts, alternating between being minimalistic and maximalist, sometimes light, sometimes dark. Musically oriented towards huge sonical landscapes, abstract sounds but also with a sense for melody.

Kjetil Husebø is originally from Bergen, but has been based in Oslo since 1998. He is an experienced musician, producer and composer playing and creating music with Piano, synthesisers, sampling and electronics He now has 10 album releases to his name, and has worked with an impressive list of renowned musicians including Arve Henriksen, Bendik Hofseth, Erot and Eivind Aarset. His earlier projects include Optical Substance, Shadowplay and Piano Transformed where he combines grand piano and live sampling/electronics. Kjetil also organised the music festival Tape to Zero at Victoria/The National Jazz Venue in Oslo between 2011–2016.
