David Ponsford (harpsichord)About
Dr David Ponsford is a harpsichordist, organist, musicologist and conductor, and took lessons with Kenneth Gilbert and Gustav Leonhardt. His recordings include the complete Bach violin sonatas with Jacqueline Ross, and the complete Handel recorder sonatas with Alan Davis, as well as several solo harpsichord CDs. He has directed courses in Performance Practice and Notation & Editing at Cardiff University, and he continues to give courses in Baroque music at Madingley Hall, Cambridge University. In 2021 he was appointed to the teaching staff at the Royal Academy of Music.
