The Swiss duo Miriam Terragni (flute) and Catherine Sarasin (piano) think that this is completely unjustified, and so they repeatedly take works for the violin (which lend themselves to this because of the range) as the basis for skilful arrangements. In the case of these two high-quality sonatas by Amy Beach (1867-1944) and Amanda Maier-Röntgen (1853-1894), an extremely worthwhile undertaking!
