Lukasz BlaszczykAbout
The Sinfonietta for string orchestra was written in 1935, and the Divertimento in 1965, a few years before Bacewicz's death. Shortly after the war, Grażyna Bacewicz composed two more very important works in her output: Symphony (1946) and Concerto (1948), both for string ensemble. They culminate the neoclassical and neobaroque period of Bacewicz's work.
All Bacewicz's compositions are distinguished by their disciplined style, clarity of form and richness of textural ideas, which affect their original sonic qualities.
The pieces presented on the album are performed by the PRIMUZ Chamber Orchestra. This project crowns a decade of their creative work. The artists are associated with the Academy of Music in Łódź, bearing the name of Grażyna Bacewicz. Łukasz Błaszczyk is the orchestra's conductor and artistic supervisor.
