About

"This CD is one of the projects in my professional career that has given me the most joy. It began with the selection process; for me, this has meant a re-encountering of my works and also an examination of my path as an artist. I chose mainly those works that are landmarks for me, in the musical sense, but also in terms of the circumstances in which they were created and the performers to whom they are dedicated.

"In total, I have compiled eight chamber music works written between 2007 and 2019 for various instrumentations, with the piano forming the starting point in each case, to which the clarinet, percussion and, above all, string instruments are added; the latter is particularly suited to my sensibility and to what I wish to express."

- Laura Vega

Born in 1978 in Vecindario, Gran Canaria (Spain), Laura Vega took lessons in composition, harmony and counterpoint with Francisco Brito at the music school in her hometown and later at the Las Palmas Conservatory, where she had composition lessons with Daniel Roca and Xavier Zoghbi. She also studied oboe, alongside piano, music theory and composition, which she also completed with distinction. Further studies followed with José Luis de Delás at the University of Alcalá de Henares and with José María Sánchez-Verdú at the Escuela Soto Mesa in Madrid. In 2016, she completed her doctorate at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife (Spain).
