About

Romances by Emmanuel Pahud and Eric Le Sage features works written between 1840 and 1860 by Robert and Clara Schumann and Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn.

Despite the popularity of the flute, not a lot of chamber music was written for the instrument; this album features transcriptions such as Robert Schumann’s Romances, op.94, originally written for oboe and transcribed in 1950 by Jean-Pierre Rampal (after which time it became a key piece of repertoire for flute players).
