Joseph Haydn's Piano Trios are among the most harmonically adventurous of his works in any genre, often reaching into remote keys via enharmonic modulation. This album presents a selection both from the composer's early Trios and later efforts, which reflect the composer's full musical maturity and are greatly admired by critics.

Riccardo Minasi, was born in Rome in 1978 is one of the supreme scholars and indeed performers of the violin specialising in historically informed practices. He has performed both as soloist as well as concertmaster with Accademia Bizantina, Concerto Italiano, Il Giardino Armonico, Al Ayre Español, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia and Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid. Since its foundation in 2012 until 2015 he was the principal conductor of the ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro. From 2004 to 2010 he was professor of chamber music at the Conservatorio V. Bellini of Palermo, he has also given violin and orchestra master-classes, and lectures in historical practice at the Juilliard School of Music in New York,the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki, and many more.

Maxim Emelyanychev was born in Dzerjinsk (Russia, Nijny Novgorod region) in 1988 in a family of professional musicians. From 1995 to 2003 he studied music at the Nijny Novgorod Choral College (including conducting with prof. M.A. Samorukova). From 2003 to 2006 he studied piano (with prof. V.G. Starynin) and conducting (with prof. A.M. Skulsky) at the Balakirev State Music College in Nijny Novgorod. From 2006 till now he studies orchestra conducting with prof. Gennady Rozhdestvensky at the Symphonic Orchestra Conducting Department of the Moscow State Conservatoire; also, he studies playing historical keyboard instruments (harpsichord and hammerklavier) with prof. Maria Uspenskaya. From 2008 he studies Renaissance/baroque cornetto playing, and performs with the Moscow “Alta Capella” ensemble. As orchestra conductor, he has made several performances with various orchestras, including the Chamber Orchestra of the Chuvash Republic, the Nijny Novgorod Soloists, Arpeggione Orchestra (Moscow), Sinfonietta Sophia, Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Nijny Novgorod Philharmonics, Helikon-Opera Moscow, Chamber Orchestra of Russia, "Musica Viva" Chamber Orchestra. Follows practical training as orchestra conductor with the Povoljye Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra. The creator and the conductor of the Youth Chamber Orchestra "Veritas".

Federico Toffano has traveled around the world to play in the most important festivals and concert halls like Tokyo Opera City, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Salzburg Festspielhaus, Frankfurt Opernhaus, and more. In 2005 and 2006 Federico was the principal cellist of the Orchestra Regionale dei Conservatori del Veneto. Following this, in 2010 and 2011, he was selected to play with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Mozart by Claudio Abbado. More recently, he was selected (first place) by audition to play with the Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona for the most important Italian opera festival. It is however in the world of historical performance where his true passion lies. This interest has led him to attend some baroque cello courses with Gaetano Nasillo, Stefano Veggetti.In 2012 he studied baroque cello in London at the Royal Academy of Music with Jonathan Manson. In 2013 he became the first cello of Il Pomo d’oro orchestra and he started to play with the Venice Baroque Orchestra.
