Another release in SRC’s excellent ‘Bandstand’ series, this concert features several fine soloists (vocal, euphonium and saxophone), several marches, Verdi’s overture The Force of Destiny, film music, jazz (Harry James’s Trumpet Concerto and Gershwin’s Strike up the Band!), Celtic music and several original works for symphonic wind band.
This is an especially varied programme displaying the musical and technical skills of a very fine band at the highest level.
