About

Inspired by the works of 18th century Spanish artist Francisco Goya, Granados' Goyescas are a true cornerstone of modern piano repertoire, capturing both the white heat of the composer's improvisational style and the grace and charm of it's Castillian-inspired origins.

A truly international performer, Ana-Maria Vera began her career as a child prodigy, coming of age under the guidance of leading pianists like Leon Fleisher. This led to a variety of prestigious global engagements, including a recital at the White House for the president at that time, Jimmy Carter.

More recently, her efforts have been channelled into performances as guest soloist with leading orchestras (her debut performance with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2005 led to her being invited back immediately for the next season), and also into performances of chamber music with leading performers such as Ivry Gitlis, Joshua Bell and Steven Isserlis.

This disc marks her return to recorded solo repertoire.
