The King’s Division, whose Band is featured here, is relatively new and consists of most of the former infantry regiments from the north of England. Their programme, largely English in content, includes the march Best Foot Forward by the legendary northern light music composer Ernest Tomlinson.
As well as arrangements of Greensleeves, Thalben Ball’s Elegy and Walton’s Prelude to Richard III, there is also excellently performed music by Cole Porter, Leroy Anderson and Lerner and Loewe.
