Percy Faith, Mantovani and Sidney Torch were among those very active in this specialised niche of the music business, and on this occasion Mantovani and David Rose provide the opening and closing segments of the collection. In-between we hear Peter Yorke, Van Phillips, Al Sack, Vivian Dunn and the Royal Marines Orchestra, Eric Robinson, Charles Shadwell, Robert Farnon and his Canadian Army Orchestra and several other once famous ‘names’ that illustrate the wide repertoire covered in this largely unknown reservoir of enjoyable music.
