About
This set helps us to learn about Krips, a conductor who was a vital force in music making and one of the most outstanding exponents of the Viennese school of conducting.
The collection features many superb performances such as his rendition of Schubert’s Ninth which represents the Viennese tradition at its very finest and is considered one of the best in living memory.
His interpretations were always warm and lyrical rather than dramatic and forceful. He never imposed his personality upon the music and as a true artist, he believed ‘less is more’.
Krips once said: ‘You’ve got to make the musician love the music he plays, at the moment he's playing it, because without love there is no music.’
